Taking daily pills is a chore; remembering to take daily pills is an even more annoying chore. Pill organizers are the perfect practical item that you can upgrade to be truly delightful. Or gorgeously organized, or super frivolous, or full of personality. Here’s Jadey’s round-up of our favorite chic-fun-pretty pill cases that might even make you excited to take your meds.
A Stylish and Simple Case for Everyday Pills
Dosey’s compact reimagines the generic daily pill organizer in a sleek aesthetic. Their compacts come in pastel colors, gold details, and a beauty-product feel– and they double as a mirror compact. The seven slots, labeled by day of the week, each hold around eight pills (this means it’s not ideal for an AM/PM organization). Jadey editors tested this case with its matching leather zip-up purse; and it’s very cute in person. It’s pretty lightweight and easy to slip into a purse if you’re on-the-go. Two warnings: the case can be a little tougher to open if you have large hands (otherwise, it’s quite easy); and if you’re using it for tiny pills, there’s a chance they’ll move around between the slots, because the dividers don’t go all the way up to the lid. But for larger pills and supplements, it works.
A Cute Case for Your Take-As-Needed Meds
“I love using a cute pill box,” says Samantha Rosenblum, a 21-year-old student in New York. “It helps reduce the clutter of having a bunch of different pill bottles and makes it much easier to keep track of whether I’ve taken my medication each day.” She found this pill organizer cute enough to leave on her nightstand as an appealing visual reminder.
It comes in a light green color with six equal-sized sections, which may be frustrating if you want a once-weekly refill, but could be a good option for storing your anti-nausea or other take-as-needed meds. Sephora also has a Mini Supplement Case that comes in a light pink with four differently sized compartments. The size of about three by three inches makes it decent for traveling; but the compartment configuration is again better suited for those take-as-needed meds versus keeping you organized on a daily basis.
A Playful and Fun Fruit-Themed Case
Arden Jourda, a 21-year-old student in Colorado, began taking daily medications at a younger age, and opted for these cute, colorful cases to make taking her pills more approachable. These spinning cases, shaped like slivers of citrus fruit, add a playful whirl to the medication process. She liked to use them daily and found them helpful while traveling. “Not only were they cute,” Jourda says, “but pressing the button to spin the case is extremely satisfying and it became a physical motion tied to taking meds every day.”
The case is about three inches wide, so it doesn’t hold a ton, but it works if you’re looking for a small case you can throw in your bag or for your as-needed meds.
A Beautiful Case That Stores Your Bottles Too
Pretty enough that you might mistake it for a nice vintage piece, Chronically Chic’s Pill Organizer Box will keep your meds the most organized, with seven days and four compartments each for morning, noon, evening, and night meds. Pair it with their matching bottle organizers that fit right under the pill box for stashing away your pill bottles for easy refills. Chronically Chic was founded by a woman with chronic illness who was disappointed with the options for pill organizers out there. With patterns including tortoiseshell and bright artist collabs, we’re glad she did.
A Compact Case for Travel
Rachelle Dagamac, a 53-year-old in California, says that this case keeps everything neat, organized and compact, especially for when she travels. The zippered faux-leather case comes with eight plastic slots inside, so it's perfect for daily pills, plus extra room take-as-needed pills. The case comes in a pretty deep blue or a bright reddish orange, with a gold zipper.
At about four-inches wide and an inch-and-a-half tall, it's well-suited for travel (and also a mid-size purse).
A ‘Tried and True’ Generic AM/PM Version
As fun as it is to play around with different styles, Jadey founder Michelle Reiss says sometimes, simplicity is best, and she uses this AM/PM pill case as a practical (but still cute!) reminder to take her daily pills. “This gets the job done… and it’s also lightweight and great for throwing in your bag on the go,” she says. It’s easy to open, comes in a couple different colors, and each compartment holds up to 18 smaller pills.
Truly Tiny and Excruciatingly Delightful
When empty, this cherry-sized lip balm case, with a little screw top, can hold just a handful of pills. There’s no organization, there’s very little room, but there is an incredible amount of happiness opening a plastic-shaped cherry to retrieve your pills. Also, while you’re using the balm, it’s really delicious.
Also comes in peach!
